EDITED FOR POST COVID UPDATE:
2021-22 sees Christopher teaming up with his wife, soprano Linda Holloway, in several concerts with esteemed colleagues and includes a premiere performance of five orchestrated works for the duo by William Dawson, Jr.  and the Sarasota Chamber Orchestra in February.  The bass baritone appears as Simone in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Tampa and bass soloist nod in Rossini’s Stabat Mater with Vero Beach Community Chorus and Orchestra in April.
COVID:  Christopher and Linda appeared together throughout the pandemic in socially distanced concerts with St. Petersburg Opera showcasing their vast repertoire in opera and musical theatre during a very challenging time for many in the industry.
Early 2019 saw the bass baritone bow as Zuniga in Carmen with Opera Tampa having now performed all of the baritone and bass baritone roles in production in his career.
2018 saw the bass baritone appearing with Winter Opera of St. Louis as Belcore in L’Elisir D’amore, Frank in Die Feldermaus with Opera Tampa, and as the bass soloist in the Verdi Requiem with Vero Beach Community Chorus and Orchestra.
2017: Immediately following his triumph as Lord Ruthven in Scenic City Opera’s Der Vampyr, his travels took him to West Palm Beach where he joined the four person ensemble of Sweeney Todd in their three week run of highly acclaimed shows at Palm Beach Dramaworks which closed on August 6th.  Read reviews here, here, and here.

*October 21st finds the baritone reunited with The Qol Quartet in “A Night on Broadway with the Qol Quartet” at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center.  They will perform favorites from many genres of musical theatre in an evening of drama and comedy not to be missed! *On November 4th, the Tampa-area baritone will appear with many singers from his voice studio (Tampa Bay Voice Studio) in a one night only fund raising concert for Homes for our Troops.  Read about this amazing charity to honor our troops in this fabulous concert here!  Homes for our Troops main website can be found here.
*December will see the baritone appearing in two Messiahs by Handel as the bass soloist.  Christopher appears with the Sarasota Choral Society on December 9th at Church of the Palms, Sarasota.  For tickets and information click here.  Next, he will share a special Rifkin style performance with the Qol Quartet (Baroque style of singing where arias, duets, and choruses are sung by four soloists) on December 19th at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Boca Grande.  Information can be found here.

Spring Schedule 2017

SPO-Elixir-of-love-a1-s7-737   The spring of 2017 will be a thrillingly busy one for Christopher Holloway.  March begins with a series of concerts with Maestro Sforzini and St. Petersburg Opera March 16th, 17th, and 19th.  He will perform operatic favorites from the operas of Verdi and Tchaikovsky, and he will also perform musical theatre standards. Click the earlier link for times and locations.  If you missed his appearances as Belcore in January’s production of L’Elisir D’Amore, please plan to join him and his fabulous colleagues for this series.

March 25th finds Mr. Holloway appearing in the Maestro Anton Coppola Centennial Birthday Celebration Concert with Opera Tampa at 7pm at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.

Christopher appears with Opera Tampa  in two performances as Sciarrone in Puccini’s classic Tosca on April 7th and 9th.  He will then travel to Gulfshore Opera to sing in a concert titled, “A Journey in American Song,” on April 27th at 7pm where he will perform the world premiere of two beautiful new classical art songs by William Dawson, Jr. based on the poetry of Florida Poet Laureate, Peter Meinke.

On May 6th at 7:30pm, Christopher rejoins the Qol Quartet in a concert of arias, duets, spirituals, and other operatic ensembles at First Methodist Church of Clearwater, FL with Brent Douglas, Pianist.

Christopher will close out May of 2017 and revisit the role of the blood thirsty vampire, Lord Ruthven, in Marschner’s Der Vampyr with Scenic City Opera in Chattanooga, Tennessee for six thrilling performances:  May 26th, 27th, 28th and concluding June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Fall/Winter Schedule

SPO-Elixir-of-love-a1-s3-332Baritone Christopher Holloway has already begun preparation for a busy performance season this fall and winter.

The baritone begins his exciting run of performances with an appearance in concert celebrating American song with Gulfshore Opera in Naples, Florida on November 13th at 3pm.

A week later,  Christopher appears with The Qol Quartet in concert November 20th at 3pm at Church of the Palms Presbyterian Church in Sarasota. This will be an afternoon of classical favorites including famous operatic duets, ensembles, musical theatre favorites, and a cappella spirituals not to be missed.

Christopher performs as the bass soloist in Messiah with Englewood United Methodist Church on December 3rd at 4pm.  He then performs the work the very next week (December 10th at 4pm) with Lakeside Lutheran Church of Venice.

His next appearance follows closely behind as he makes his performance debut with the The Sarasota Pops Orchestra on December 12th at 7pm and December 18th at 3pm.

The new year finds Mr. Holloway returning to St. Petersburg Opera as Sargeant Belcore in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore with performances on January 27th, 29th, and 31st.  After his critically acclaimed performance as Escamillo in Carmen last season, you will not want to miss this comedic performance!

Summer/Fall Schedule

It’s an exciting time for Tampa-based professional opera singer, Christopher Holloway.  This coming summer into the fall season finds the baritone appearing with Florida Lyric Opera as Maestro Strappaviscere in Viva la Mamma.  This farce by Gaetano Donizetti will be performed in Italian with dialogue in English July 28th and 30th at 8:00 pm in The Space at 2106 Main Street in historic West Tampa.  This is a run of performances not to be missed.

September brings Christopher to perform a solo concert on the fine arts series of Berry College in Rome, Georgia on September 29th in the Ford Auditorium at 7:30pm with pianist Kris Carlisle.  He will then give a masterclass for the voice area the following day.

Projects

Christopher will be appearing throughout the state of Florida this summer and fall with the Qol Quartet home based out of Sarasota.  The Qol Quartet was established three years ago, and Christopher joined the group last year.  The all classically trained group consists of Johanna Fincher, soprano, Robyn Rocklein, mezzo-soprano, Adam Bielamovicz, tenor, and Mr. Holloway (bass/baritone).  Their repertoire consists of classical and familiar operatic arias, duets, ensembles, as well as a cappella arrangements and musical theater solos and duets.  For more information, send an email to qolquartet@gmail.com.  Also, feel free to visit their website here.
